The West African country that has been hit with the Ebola crisis, has a new mobile transfer account that will enable the efforts to contain the epidemic, where 4,000 cases have been reported.
The officials said that the money transfer account was to help in collection of funds from donors who want to help.
It is also aimed at ensuring transparency and timeliness in the financial responses, they said.
Airtel which is the leading mobile money transfer service in the country said that this is just one of their efforts to fight the Ebola crisis in the country.
According to Coindesk.com, the Sierra Leone Liberty Group (SLLG) is now promoting the use of bitcoins to support efforts of managing the scourge. The group has been supplying needed soap and disinfectants in anti-Ebola campaigns.
