India’s TaxiPixi, a cab e-hailing service has launched in Nigeria after signing a partnership with Nigeria’s Tranzit in a move to simplify taxi hailing and booking efforts in Nigeria and as well help TaxiPixi expand across Africa.
This is not just a Nigerian thing, the two firms say the new partnership will help accelerate their expansion into various cities across Africa. A landing page for Kenya is already live though taxi hailing is not available yet. We are not sure which marketplace TaxiPixi will work with in Kenya or if they will just launch their services locally or help Tranzit launch across Africa.
TaxiPixi.com allows viewing all available taxis on a map, gives users a choice between multiple categories of vehicles and shows real-time status updates on bookings; including tracking driver movement. The app also allows in-app calls directly to an assigned driver, shows saved lists of frequently visited and favorite addresses for easy re-use and also has a booking cancellation at the touch of a button.
Available for download on the Google Playstore and iOS App Store, TaxiPixi is also set to launch a Windows mobile app for drivers and passengers will be released in the next few months.
TaxiPixi, one of India’s fastest growing e-hailing services is also available in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia and works on the cloud sourcing model, wherein information entered by the consumers is broadcasted swiftly to all cab service providers in their vicinity.
