Huawei, in the AfricaCom 2014 in Cape town South Africa, exhibited its solutions in line with its theme – “Building a Better Connected Africa”. AfricaCom is the largest technology event in Africa and brings together senior decision-makers from the entire African technology ecosystem.

Li Peng, Huawei’s President of Eastern and Southern Africa said: “for more than 15 years we’ve been continuously investing in Africa, delivering broadband coverage, especially in rural area, thus bringing the continent closer together and bridging the digital divide.

Huawei  showcased their latest network and enterprise solutions customized for Africa, some of them include:

- Ad-
  • Ultra Broadband Network – This works in connection with the transition from the connection-oriented Fixed mobile convergence (FMC) 1.0 stage to the FMC 2.0 stage, characterized by application, cloud and experience; which will provide the African market with faster speed, lower latency and a greater user experience.
  • Experience Centric Operations – Huawei will help operators enhance their Total Value of Ownership (TVO) and realize best-in-class operational transformation. Huawei’s Business and Network consulting also provides more efficient network planning, helping customers improve their investment effectiveness by using accurate LTE planning, HetNet integration, efficient IP network planning and dynamic refarming.
  • Agile Digital Business – Huawei strategically invests in digital service convergence, network capability openness and BSS transformation to help operators develop agile digital business models. By demonstrating how video services and traffic monetization can increase customers’ profits, Huawei proposes solutions to increase customers’ subscription base and develop into new markets, such as industry verticals (mining, banking, energy, government, transportation).

Huawei will also showcase the latest smartphones and innovations and solutions for the Enterprise market.
