Techno Brain & KCA University Partner To Bridge The ICT Gap In East Africa

Techno Brain, an ICT solution provider and KCA University in Nairobi Kenya, have come together and formed a five year industry based collaboration aimed at reviewing the ICT University. This will ensure the curriculum taught in the University meets the current industry demands, addressing the growing shortage of ICT skills in the East African region; and will commence in January 2015.

This collaboration will establish a centre of excellence at KCA Main campus in Ruaraka which will offer, for the first time in Africa, high end ICT training in the areas of banking, insurance, finance, marketing and human resources, using the technology tools that the graduates will later use once they get employed. The students will be taught by visiting industry experts from the 26 countries in the world that Techno Brain has presence, in addition to hands on access to the latest technology tools, improving the students’ employability upon graduation. Techno Brain will further train and mentor the ICT faculty at KCA University and provide internship opportunities for the students at the various departments in Techno Brain Group and avail the latest Technology to KCA University.

“This will reduce the cost of training incurred by companies, “ added  Manoj Shankar, Techno Brain Group CEO, “We churn out thousands of graduates into the market, but they face a challenge in the job market because they do not match the skill set that employers are looking for. The centre of excellence will tackle this challenge head-on with by increasing capacity of our graduates in ICT.”

Techno Brain Group will also help the faculty supervise student projects, to ensure that they meet the market threshold, encouraging the students to consider commercializing their projects upon graduation. ”This will foster entrepreneurship and jobs creations among the graduates,” noted Ajay Alva the strategic alliances director at Techno Brain.
