The Ports Authority, a key role player in Kenya’s growing international trade and commerce portfolio, is the first institution in East Africa to adopt this technology for its ISO 9001:2008 certification process.

The RUBiQ software application is Cloud-based and is designed to improve the quality of management systems. The end result is the enhancement of operations and betterment of services – including that which defines the public sector.

In the case of the Kenya Ports Authority, the integration of RUBiQ has optimised overall service efficiency and positioned the Authority to remain in total control of its systems, having key bases like governance and compliance covered.

The RUBiQ Platform is targeted at a broad market and will add value to any-sized business, from SMEs to large enterprises.

Main benefits associated with the software platform include a reduction in cost (with the functionality required to address governance, compliance and risk centralised and accessible in the Cloud) and the ability to provide access to the system from anywhere at anytime.

Executive representatives from RUBiQ have told regional media that from an application point of view, RUBiQ costs a power user $76 on a monthly basis. The service is provided on a per-user per-month subscription basis. There are no capital intensive costs required from the end-user.

The RUBiQ solution was developed by South African-based Guideline Biztech, which was established in 2012, to develop a best-of-breed out-the-box Cloud solution to meet many of the governance, risk and compliance challenges faced by small to medium businesses today. Guideline BizTech achieves this by aligning:

·       ISO Standards

·       compliance

·       risk, and

·       governance

through one single SaaS technology framework. Thus the overall end-result means a simpler, more cost effective approach of any business to solving the multiple layers of compliance challenges faced by companies, whilst ensuring significant improvement in overall business quality, effectiveness and efficiency.

Consulting partner Camara International has the skills and experience to configure the RUBiQ service to meet the exit needs of the customer.

Pamoja is the strategic arm leading Seacom’s entry into content aggregation and Cloud computing services. In its quest to create a Cloud services ecosystem in Africa, the Company continues to attract solution partners who help reinforce the reseller channel and service to customers.

“Through our channel partner Camara International we have introduced a solution that will add value to the growing east Africa market, a region in which Cloud-based solutions are growing in appeal because of the direct and instant benefit to business development,” says Albie Bester, CEO of Pamoja.

The Company is capable of delivering Cloud capabilities to telecos, ISPs, SI and other service organisations across the continent, thereby replacing the need for these entities to build and operate their own Cloud infrastructures.

This is a core component of the Service Provider’s strategy to help drive the development and entrenchment of a Cloud ecosystem specifically within the Africa market, for the Africa market.
