PesaCalc is a new mobile money application developed by Kenyan mobile app company Mobile Matrix, aimed at helping mobile money users prepare exactly the right amount to send with the options of sending to registered and unregistered users, as well as including the withdrawal fee.
PesaCalc aims to help its users send to the right recipient by drawing contacts from their entire phonebook – not just from their SIM card. Huston Malande, Mobile Matrix CEO says the application is compatible with all three mobile money services – M-Pesa, Airtel Money and Orange Money and also givs users notifications on anytime tariff rates change from any of their providers.
Matrix created the app to solve the issue of searching for mobile money tariff rates or sending overly high amounts to other users, and the believe in making epic applications that make a difference in Kenyans’ lives and bring novelty and a raised bar to Kenya’s application market.
“Mobile matrix anticipates that PesaCalc while simple, will completely transform how Kenyans use M-Pesa, Airtel Money, and Orange Money,” writes Malande. Though the app is only available for Android phones, the firm says iOS and Windows Phone versions are currently under development.
There’s an increasing growth of apps pegged on M-PESA after Safaricom acquired M-Ledger.
