South African research company, World Wide Worx, says that there will be a major boom in the African online sector, which has been influenced by the retail sites which are more than 800 in South Africa alone.
Another report by the International World Statistics says that internet users in Africa has increased seven folds between 2000and 2012 which adds up to 167 million users.
“Online shopping is increasingly becoming popular as fears of using credit cards and submitting personal information, such as delivery details online; further diminishes each day,” said the report.
e-Commerce has also received enormous support from the banking industry; which has gradually encompassed mobile transactions and payment through mobile phones (m-commerce).
This transmission has made almost all industries to move their business into the e-commerce space and hope to produce a rich, user-centric and consumer-focused online retail experience, which matches consumer expectations.
