Orange Botswana has launched ‘Orange Makoya’, a new mobile advertising service which sends SMS alerts of brand offers and promotions to interested Orange subscribers in a move to connect prospective buyers to brand owners, stores and suppliers.
‘Orange Makoya’ is expected to fill the gap in mobile and networking industry as the industry goes personalized by the day.The service will target both teenagers and adults according to their likes and preferences. The service is a product of Orange Botswana and Incepta Communications, a marketing agency.
Seeletso Reikeletseng, Mobile Advertising Sales Executive at Incepta Communications said:”This is a revolutionary service as it is a first of its kind in Botswana. It creates an opportunity for customers to find different services and products through their phones. It will also benefit local brands and various suppliers as they will be able to reach a wider network of their target audience, and it increases the chances of converting leads into actual sales.”
Apart from text notifcations of offers and promotions, the mobile advertising service will also serve as a mobile directory for consumers and brand owners and also help improve efficiency in business and double up sales for retailers.
For privacy, subscribers can opt in or out anytime they want. This is expected to add value to Orange Botswana subscribers and as well attract a huge population of new users to join the telco.
