Nigeria Plans To Connect Half Of Its Population To 3G Network By The End Of 2015

The government of Nigeria is looking to connect 50 percent of its population to 3G broadband in the course of this year. According to the country’s Ministry of ICT, this project will be facilitated through “Wireless Broadband Infrastructure Upgrade and Expansion Phase 1,” which is under the Nigeria’s National Broadband Plan 2013-2018.
The president issued the National Broadband Plan 2013-2018 in the second quarter of 2013.
The 3G services will be powered by ubiquitous broadband facilities; while ensuring all new mobile site are LTE-compatible. This is according to Executive Vice Chairman Of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC),Ernest Ndukwe.
The ICT Ministry will also ensure that all that is required to complete the  digital dividend spectrum migration is met, as well as releasing more spectrum for LTE through the NCC.
