Twitter yesterday unveiled group direct messaging and a video sharing to allow users share experiences in small groups or as well as in video formart.
According to the firm, the group function lets users start conversations with any of their followers and they don’t all need to follow one another in order to chat.
The firm has also made it easy for users and brands to share videos by launching a Twitter app that allows them to take and edit videos minus leaving Twitter.
“Our unique mobile video camera and inline editing experience lets you capture and share videos up to 30 seconds in an instant,” the firm announced adding that users will soon be able to upload videos from the camera roll.
Users don’t have to follow eachother to participate in a group DM but notifications are send to one’s account each time they are invited into a group chat.The new services aim to help Twitter take on services such as Facebook and Facebook owned Instagram which have become popularvideo sharing platforms. Videos will also help the firm garner in more in brand advertising among others. Twitter earlier bought Vine which has been helping users share videos independently.
