OMG Ghana Is Taking Over The Gossip Scene In The Country

ULLIE-1024x683

OMG Ghana is taking Ghana’s gossip and trending stories to the next level; this start-up looking to useing videos and images to tell a story contrary to what we need to read to understand, we can call it the power of ‘eye-candy’

“We are building the buzzfeed of Africa, starting from Ghana. For time, content in Africa has been archaic, usually long, one way and around the subject politics. OMGGhana.Com believe that visuals speak a 1000 words, so we use videos and images (visuals) to tell our story. Our website focuses on content by building content people can relate to and our strong hold is entertainment, lifestyle and fashion,” says the founder Prince Baokye Boampong.

He added that Ghana’s version of OMG is up and running pretty much well. Adding that it is the fourth most visited website in the country serving 20 Million+ pageviews monthly, 130 million total page views in 2014 and 18 Million visitors in 2014. OMGGhana have registers 59,000 subscribers.

With the kind of readership this start-up has it is obvious that advertising is the best mode of financing, which Prince agree to the fact that they make good money through that chanel. He added that he is also looking at expanding to other places in Africa

“We plan to execute a proven concept in a growing market. QQ.Com by Tencent, Facebook.Com, Yahoo all made their fortunes from advertising, with a broader reach in Africa and content people can relate to, we would be a top spot for companies to showcase their products,” said Prince.
