Nigeria’s Kaku.com.ng, a discovery website that allows people locate amazing places where they can hang out with friends, family or loved ones based on their BUDGET and preferred location has launched to do just that, aiming to open a whole new world of fun, entertainment and leisure at the right budget to everyone in Lagos.
The site allows users to see, review and rate various places, and also share pictures and “selfies” of themselves and loved ones having fun at various places.
Kayode Oyewole, co-founder Kaku.com.ng says, “Sometime in 2014, I was trying to find affordable places where I could hang out with a friend on a limited budget; after getting referrals from a few friends, it dawned on me that there was really no centralized web service which offered quality information on fun places.”
After a long search, Oyewole discovered he wasn’t alone.
“I also discovered I wasn’t alone in this, I realized many of my friends had the same problem looking for affordable places to hangout on birthdays, weekends and holidays. At that point, I realized word of mouth referrals were not enough and so in a bid to solve this problem, we decided to develop a solution that would address this need,” added Oyewole.
This gave birth to kaku.com.ng.
Set to launch publicly soon, Kaku.com.ng aims to help users find affordable places to eat, wine or dine or somewhere to take your date to, a place to relax with family, friends and loved ones or just somewhere to wriggle and jiggle. The site aims to concentrate on Lekki, VI, IKeja, Surulere and Yaba, attain a critical mass in the areas then expand across Nigeria to become a “Yelp or Foursquare” of Africa.
