Walletec Integrates with Wallet One

mobile walletCape Town-based digital wallet integration firm Wallettec, has today announced it has  added Wallet One, an international multi-currency electronic payment system operating in over twelve countries including South Africa, to its list of prominent companies that have integrated with their system.

This move is aimed at simplifying and strengthening mobile money payments in South Africa ad beyond. Wallet One joins other exciting digital wallet companies who have made Wallettec their home including Bitcoin, M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Kopo-Kopo, Payza and Snapscan.

In a statement made available to TechMoran, Johan Meyer, CEO and founder of Wallettec said, “The mobile payment boom in South Africa is just around the corner and requires everyone from the private sector to government to be on board to deliver a system that is efficient, affordable and secure and Wallettec has been at the forefront to make this possible.”

Meyer says Wallettec, as a SaaS (Software as a service) platform will enable retailers to accept any type of mobile transaction or currency type at their Point Of Sale. Through a single integration, retailers can enable consumers to transact at their Point Of Sale using only their mobile phones.

The addition of Wallet One to Walletec brings a useful set of tools for South African merchants to grow their businesses in this ever changing and growing e-commerce market. Wallet One is live in the US, Europe, Asia and Africa and specializes in e-wallets payment aggregation and payment processing solutions including self service kiosks, POS payment processing and integrated solutions.

The move will also give merchants alternative payment options to enable them to reach new customers including the unbanked and under banked, to shop online without a bank account or credit card.

Wallet One’s payment solutions  aim to offer immediate discount rewards enabling users to purchase prepaid services including airtime and prepaid electricity, pay bills, send money to friends or family and shop online or in-store without requiring a bank account or any paperwork. All that is required to open a Wallet One virtual wallet is a valid RSA I.D. Number and a cell phone.
