Taxi hailing app Easy Taxi has today a launched new fare determination method in a move to become more appealing to its users in Nairobi and probably around the country or even regionally.
Easy Taxi today implimented minimum charges and price per Kilometre in a move to simplify their cab billing process and as well sign more users due to transparency and system automation. The firm has been leaving drivers to determine how much their clients pay mostly based on the driver’s guesswork or experience. This new feature will kill all manner of doubt and dishonesty in case a driver or a passenger decides to be so.
“We’ve implemented a BIG price change to our services! From now on, regular Easy Taxi rides will be charged according to kilometers driven. The prices are as follows:Minimum Charge: 300 KES while Price Per KM: 90 KES. No matter if its raining or sunny, traffic or no traffic, happy or sad, we will always charge the same price per km,” the firm announced.
Uber already uses a similar pricing model which allows users to calculate how much they will pay whether in heavy traffic or on a long distance. By launching a similar pricing model, some users think Easy Taxi aims to bank on Uber price determination success in Kenya though Uber in other markets has had an outcy of users after price surges. Easy Taxi drivers will ZERO out the odometer once a user enters the vehicle.
