
General classifieds platform Kerawa.com has raised $200,000 from ex-seloger.com, the biggest real estate
classifieds in France.
Led by Gilles BLANCHARD, who is also chairman of Zameen, one of the leading real estate classifieds in Pakistan the funding round will help Kerawa gain more traction, improve the its web and mobile experience, set an
office in Douala (Cameroon), Abidjan (Côte d’ivoire), and Kinshasa (Congo).
“We also aim to deeply use our partnership with ORANGE, a major telecommunications operator across Africa,” Nino NJOPKOU founder and CEO told TechMoran. “The 200k$ is our major raise so far. We got some cash from friends and relatives early on to help us do what we have put up already.”
Set to be a pan-African classifieds site for just about everything, Kerawa.com says its main focus will be to help the SMEs in Africa to grow by helping them to sign up more clients. The site claims to see over 1.5 million visitors monthly on the site and its primary focus nowis to be the the number one platform in Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Burkina Faso and Mali.
At the moment, the site has ads for cars, real estate, jobs, computers, telephones, services among others and is reaching out to individials and traders across the countries to grow its inventory by making ad posting as simple as possible.
Kerawa.com’ major competition will be OLX, Ady, JunkMail, PigiaMe, Gumtree among others across Africa. But the market is also huge for more players to meet buyers specific needs.
