
Willem Marais, SEACOM’s Chief Commercial Officer and formerly in senior positions with the Siemens Group of Companies has been appointed as the Group Managing Executive for Liquid Telecom Group and as the Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Telecom South Africa.
Marais brings over 20 years’ experience in the telecoms industry and will be responsible for all Liquid Telecom’s global wholesale data business across the service provider market and will also head Liquid Telecom’s business operations in South Africa.
In a statement, Liquid Telecom CEO Nic Rudnick said: “Willem has a great track record of developing long-term customer partnerships and leading negotiations with large scale wholesale telecommunication infrastructure transactions in Europe, Middle East and Africa, which make him perfect for this important position within our company.”
