In a post on Facebook, Ifeanyi Abraham, Senior PR Manager at eTranzact International PLC, a payments solution provider founded by Valentine Obi in Nigeria announced the launch of a new mobile money product that would “redefine payments in Nigeria”. He spoke about how PayPal was heralded as the product to solve the Nigerian payments problem but it had faced realities that could not be solved over night.
In an event at the CCHub which should be holding right now in Lagos, the product will be demoed by Ike Eze, ED, Strategy and Corporate Development at eTranzact.

Let me drop this here.
On my timeline and in groups I belong to, there are conversations everyday about frustrations with payments and disrupting payments in Nigeria. With the coming of PayPal, there was a big shout about an International player coming to show the locals how its done, but the reality is that the Nigerian market has unique problems that Paypal cannot solve overnight. The big players eTranzact, Interswitch are blamed for being too slow or not innovative enough but the reality is that we have factors limiting the level of innovation and ideation.
Tomorrow at the CCHub Mobile Experience centre by 11am,@MyPocketMoni will be taking steps to redefine payments in Nigeria, with a new version of the PocketMoni mobile money application#TheNewPocketMoni.
We have put a lot of time into developing a product that we believe can truly drive payments in the marketplace and your feedback on the current edition and on features for future editions will be required to fully actualize our goals.
In Silicon Valley style, we have released some features Pre-event, but we have kept the Juicer and more disruptive features for the Launch.
If you can spare a few minutes to drop by, Ike Eze who drives strategy and Corpt Devpt will be demoing the product and you can expect special small chops fried in my kitchen.
We are limited by space (Size and number of devices at the venue) but we will be happy to welcome you.
