Airtel data and voice network in Kampala is superb and you’d expect the same and even better when you get to Nairobi but you’ll be in for a rude shock.
However, Airtel is leaving no stone untouched as the firm says its network upgrade in Nairobi is set to be completed this month, thank goodness!
Airtel had earlier announced a Ksh 2.5 billion investment to upgrade its network in Kenya in order to meet the demands for increased data and internet services. This upgrade will see Airtel customers in this region enjoy stronger signals and faster data speeds better internet experience on the Airtel Network.
If you use Airtel’s 3.75G network in Nairobi you might be already experiencing service interruptions such as call drops and blanks or interruptions while using the internet, ot just too slow internet browsing or not being able to be reached at times during the downtimes.
The company advised its customers within Nairobi to set the network mode on their phone settings on “Auto connect” to minimize service interruptions.
According to CEO Adil El Youssefi, “Our focus is to deliver superior quality of service to our customers. The implementation of this transformation program will enable us to further enrich our customers’ internet and voice experience across the country. We do apologize for any inconveniences that may be caused to our customers and reassure them that our technical teams will be working throughout to minimize the interruptions during this upgrade period.”
A similar upgrade was successfully implemented in Kitale and Mombasa where Airtel customers in these regions are currently enjoying better network quality and internet experience.
Airtel is present in over 17 African countries therefore it makes sense for its 3G network to be of best quality wherever you go and better than one country networks with not much resources like it has.
