Rocket Internet’s Easy Taxi is expanding to Nakuru town, Kenya’s third biggest city in a move to make taxi hailing services in the town easier.
Available for users on iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices, the firm says that passengers will confirm their pickup point and order a taxi with a single click with a confirmation screen showing the name, photo and car model/plate of their pre-screened taxi driver.
Easy Taxi Nakuru will show a map with the real-time position of the vehicle, options like in-app payments, corporate accounts, favorite addresses, selection of service features, special discounts, passenger-driver messaging and ride history are available according to location.
Easy Taxi is offering all passengers in Nakuru Ksh 400 off their first Easy Taxi ride after they download the app here, request a ride and then tell their drivers to use code: FIRST.
Easy Taxi operates in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia and has a global network of over 400,000 drivers and operates in 420 cities aroind the world. It’sbiggest competitor locally is Uber, which has a feel-good following across the city.
