Mobile social marketplace Liveluvo, has launched in Kenya to connect its members to local products and services and as well provide a platform for it’s community members to explore their entrepreneurial skills, swap or sell their stuff, offer services or knowledge and connect with like-minded people, new customers and potential employers.
To use Liveluvo, one needs to download the free Android App, sign up with their mobile number and setup a profile that shows your vocation, interests, knowledge and skills and then post an offer of a service, skill, product or knowledge to the Liveluvo community.
Users can also search for opportunities offered by others, based on their interests and location and users can pay for the services or barter trade with your talent. You can also join Liveluvo to just swap belongings or buy and sell goods, learn a new craft or provide a service, promote your group or manage your organisation or just share your knowledge or ideas.
According to Ryan Doyle Head of Community Development at LiveLuvo, the App is the perfect platform for passionate people who want to get ahead. “ It’s so important that the people who shape our future, incorporate an entrepreneurial mind-set and community spirit as they go about their day to day lives. We want our community to make meaningful connections, find opportunities, learn from each other and possibly earn a living.”
Liveluvo will take on similar sites such as Mobofree, a mobile social network allowing users to chat, sell or swap stuff, search for jobs as well as date. It will also contend with other classifieds platforms such as OLX, PigiaMe among others but the market is not like a pie or orange. All these players can serve and complement each others even if they are competitors.
