PayPal’s digital money transfer firm Xoom
has today announced it will be expanding its service in Africa, making it easier for people in the United States to quickly and securely send money to Nigeria.
Xoom allows users to send money via a mobile phone, tablet or computer directly to one’s bank account, and access to 24/7 customer service, 365 days a year. The deal has been made possible by partnerships with local banks such as First Bank Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank, Zenith Bank and more.
Xoom’s service will allow Nigerian immigrants in the U.S. to conveniently and securely send money to bank accounts in Nigeria with their U.S. bank accounts, credit cards, or debit cards. Customers can send up to $2,999 for just $4.99 when paying with their bank account.Xoom provides locked-in exchange rates on Naira (NGN) deposits to Nigeria and a secure and convenient way for immigrants to send money from their computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
