Egyptian telecom billionaire businessman Nauib Sawiris’s Euronews is launching Africanews TV, a multilingual pan-African news outlet to show the new face of news coverage from a fast-moving continent.
Based in the Republic of the Congo,the service will run on africanews.com, as well as on air, of Africa and the rest of the world. The firm says it has 45 correspondents all over Africa with editorial decisions taken in Africa for an African audience.
From its TV launch, Africanews says it’s now available in 7.3 million homes in 33 countries across sub-Saharan Africa. The firm will also work with several national channels with regional reach such as Canal 2 Info in Cameroon. MBC on Mauritius. Ouest TV in Senegal. RTA in Madagascar.
