Most mobile network providers have voicemail services but if you don’t pay Roaming charges when you are in other countries, you never get to get this free service.
InstaVoice wants you never to miss another call ever again whether you are in your home country or are travelling and your phone is switched off or our off or out of network range.
Developed by Kirusa, the firm that acquired Ghana’s Saya Mobile, InstaVoice allows you to receive voicemail when you are unable to answer a call and gives the caller the option to leave you a voice message.
The app has voicemail, missed calls and chats and after signing up for a profile, a user can see their friends or phone contacts, invite others by text, email or via the app, share interesting blogs and notes with friends using the app or those on external social networks like Twitter, Facebook among others.
By bringing free Missed Call alerts, Voicemail and Voice SMS to users whether they have the app or not, InstaVoice encompasses all forms of communication we present have at hand and aims to both bring people together, help them communicate and save their money while staying in touch.
The best part of the app is allowing users who are not on roaming to get their missed call alerts as well as listen to their voicemail from their contacts. A user can also send a personalised voice greeting or message to their friends or clients wherever they are in the world.
Apart from unlimited video voicemail and missed call alerts, InstaVoice is like a better ‘WhatsApp’ but with better voice quality. Users can send their friends free text and voice SMS on any mobile device, create groups based on interests, take notes via text or voice and share them with friends on other networks and withdraw or revoke those messages, voicemail and missed calls.
The app works simply. After downloading and creating a profile, a user can quickly compose a message by clicking on the pencil icon and then choose a contact they want the message send to. For a voice message, a user clicks on the mic icon to record a voice message which they can send to anyone using the app or not.
A user can limit the recordings to either 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes. Like other messaging apps, a user can also create and send messages to a group.
