Naspers’-baacked online classifieds site, OLX.com.ng recently launched a paid user support service to help users manage the posting and selling of items on the site, a move expected to grow its user base as well as revenues.
Dubbed Do It For Me (D.I.F.M), the premium service is targeted at users who have no time to post, meet with potential buyers or want their privacy protected can entrust the sale of their goods to the OLX Champs who are sales experts.
According to Daan Sanders, CEO Middle East & Africa, OLX, “D.I.F.M is another innovative way our platform makes life easier and safer for our users”.
The firm aims to use the initiative to grow its user base as well as make the platform safe and easy to use among the masses most of whom are not so computer literate but have items to sell. The move will also pull in those who are skeptical about using the platform. Sanders also stated that the move aims to reinvent the classifieds business model to fit the local market.
Lola Masha, Country Manager, OLX stated that the D.I.F.M service comes in two forms. Post It For Me (P.I.F.M) where the OLX sales champs manage the posting of items for users on the site and Sell It For Me (S.I.F.M), where the entire process is managed from posting the item to actively finding potential buyers until the item is sold.
D.I.F.M comes with a minimal fee for OLX users and the product is only available in Lagos but there are plans to extend in other parts of the country. Interested users can apply for it here or call OLX on 0700 22 55 659
