Though the global demand for tablets is steadily declining over the years compared to smartphones, TECNO still wants to put its tablets into your hands and they might be successful if the next version of the TECNO Droipad learns a few lessons from TECNO Droipad 8II.
The TECNO Droipad 8II scores big for its battery life, as it’s able to do more than 12 hours on its 5000mAh battery pack which charges 3x faster due to its Fast Charge. The 5000mAh battery also comes with Reverse Charge and OTG allowing you to use it as a power bank if your smartphone battery runs out.
Another plus on the TECNO Droipad 8II 4G/LTE plus voice call capability. You can use it to drain the internet for whatever content over superfast 4G internet. There are several towns in Kenya and several cities in Africa with 4G/LTE so as a the owner of the Droidpad 8II is at an advantage. On connectivity, you can use USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
At 211 by 123 by 8.3mm, the tablet’s size is just perfect for that-being a tablet. One is able to consume content on the go and can be a little more productive than just having their smartphones. The tablet’s 64-bit quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage are good enough for one to work, store and consume their media on the go.
However, TECNO DroidPad 8II doesn’t need dual SIM’s as rarely will someone use the bulky tablet to call whether in private or public. The tablet’s dual camera don’t do the tablet any favor as the images as not as clear compared to smartphones at the same price points.
The Android OS (Lollipop) works perfectly on the tablet, bringing the thousands of apps in the Android ecosystem live to the user but the tablet’s UI is the most annoying and cumbersome in the market giving the KES 16,500 tablet a 4/10 rating. The right rrp for the tablet should have been around KES 12,500.
