A UK-based Nigerian startup Voxitt has officially launched to be home to news and stories from or about Nigeria to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
The new social platform is similar to other social media websites and allows users to post web links, photos, blogs and other content that relate to their interests.
Segun Olaleye, founder and CEO of Voxitt says the website also aggregates stories into post categories (e.g. politics, entertainment, business, etc.) so users can quickly sort through and access content most relevant to them. Opinion and comments can be shared in postings of up to 150 characters.
Since its soft launch in January, the website has enjoyed a steadily-growing following throughout Nigeria and beyond, as citizens in the country and surrounding regions are extremely pleased with a social media platform designed solely for them from the ground up.
To encourage further growth, the website is offering the chance to win ₦10,000 worth of Konga gift vouchers for new users who sign up and post relevant content before the end of June.
“From day one, our goal with Voxitt was to give Nigerians the ability to share and discuss topics most relevant to their own daily lives, and to provide them with the tools needed to have dialog on important issues that they are most passionate about,” Olaleye says.
