LIVELUVO, a Kenyan app based marketplace for users to trade services, product and skills, seeks to tap into the growing popularity of online users by linking local entrepreneurs with opportunities to earn a living and enhance their lives.
LIVELUVO is currently running the first in a series of FULL University Scholarship Hunts that will see young Kenyans through an entire university course. Through this investment in education, LIVELUVO hopes to help create a brighter future for the successful members of their community through the removal of the financial barrier. This is just one of a few investments that LIVELUVO has made in its community since its inception in Kenya in November 2015.
According to the firm, the winners will be financially supported through their entire university degree.
“We feel rewarded to be able to offer inspired Kenyans the opportunity to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge needed for their chosen career paths” says LIVELUVO Founder, Jas Minhas adding that there are no forms to fill, no legal documents to provide or lengthy board meetings to appoint the awardees as the competition is set as a ‘Treasure Hunt’.
The Hunt is quite simple: There is an offer already posted on LIVELUVO with the Title “Get a Full University scholarship”. Over the course of 4 weeks, golden envelopes will be hidden in well-known places around Nairobi and participants will need to follow the clues provided to find a golden envelope!
The first 10 people to arrive at the specific location for that week will win a LIVELUVO Hamper and then be entered into an on-the-spot raffle draw to receive a smartphone voucher!
At the end of the 4 week Hunt, all 40 winners will be entered into a lucky dip made by a renowned independent scholar and one lucky participant will receive the ultimate prize of the scholarship! Participants have to be legal resident in Kenya, be a current student or have an acceptance letter at an accredited Kenyan university or college within 8 weeks of receiving the Scholarship prize, have LIVELUVO profile and have to be following LIVELUVO on either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Developed by Satkirit Ltd, the Android powered app, has had over 20,000 downloads and over 3,000 weekly active users and has been specifically built for the Kenyan market for both trade, knowledge exchange, skills and ideas with other like-minded members.
The app also filters information using various parameters that include categories, distance, most active offers and recently posted offers, thus making it Kenya’s most comprehensive, convenient and reliable local community network to get ahead!
The company plans to extend its online footprint to Uganda by the end of 2016, Tanzania, Rwanda in early 2017.
