Nigeria’s Homeworks.ng, an online tutoring marketplace connecting students to top tutors in various subjects has launched to help its users to search for and find the best of tutors in the country to help them pass with flying colors.
Developed by Lextorah Limited, Homeworks.ng says it specialists in homework help, online tutoring, and test preparation and the founders says they designed it to help students in primary, secondary schools, and university improve and even those in colleges to connect with tutors, join an online classroom and improve their knowledge about the subjects they want help in.
According to the firm, the future of private tutoring is huge as the market research firm Global Industry Analysts, Inc. peg the global private tutoring market will surpass $102.8 billion by 2018, Homeworks.ng therefore is starting early and aims to reach as many people as it can.
In Nigeria, there is also Pass.ng, which is a revision tool for students preparing for their final examinations but is a direct competition of PrepClass which also connects students to tutors in a regulated online environment.
Like its name, Homeworks.ng focuses on one-on-one online tutoring.
“Our platform is designed to help students improve their grades by connecting them to top online tutors,” writes Bola Mercy Taylor, the Managing Consultant/CEO of LexTorah Limited, the firm behind Homeworks.ng.” At homeworks.ng, we do NOT feed students the answers to homework questions, instead, we show them how to learn.”
Though tutors sign up for free, approval is not automatic as Homeworks.ng has to vet them and their skills. Students on the other hand have to pay a subscription fee to connect with either tutors or schools online. Homeworks.ng is on the right track and the future looks bright for them.
