Just in case you have forgotten, Office 365 includes the Office 2016 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, Access which can be installed on a PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone and as long as you have it installed you can use it offline-without the need for Internet that’s why you can create or edit a documents minus an internet connection.
Storage
The only difference between Office 2016 suites and Office 365 is that both have the above applications but Office 365 comes with other services which are Internet-powered such as 1 TB of OneDrive and Skype allowing you to store as much content as you can and as well collaborate with friends and other users from across the world.
As a blogger, I create a lot of content both in form of audio, videos and photos as well as normal blog posts. As a team creating content everyday for four years we’ll definitely would have run out of storage but Office 365 allows each of us to get 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage for personal content, including documents, photos, music, and videos. the five of us get up to 5 TB total, 1 TB per user.
Familiar environment
Another feature that makes us so productive as a team is that we know and trust Office and have used it for years. For years, we have used Office to create polished documents, unlock insights, and present them with clarity. Office 365 is the same Office environment we have always used. With Office 365, we have the latest Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote for both PC and Mac, and Publisher and Access for PC.
Collaboration and remote access
With an Office 365 subscription, teams can share share work , copy edit and file it in for approval or review. The changes are automatically updated and stored in the 5 TB storage for the team. If it’s work to be shared among just two people, a user can remove other devices or accounts so that access is limited to the two people alone.
Another good thing is the ability to work from work from anywhere-be it a cafe or on a bus on your way to work. Office 365 allows one to access, edit and save their files on whatever device they want to use. This allows one to work even on transit thereby saving time. Advanced formatting and co-authoring features allow other account holders to log in, access the work and even edit then save it.
Security and support
Though Office 365 allows collaboration and remote access of files, only authorized devices can access a shared account making it harder for files to be accessed by a third party.
Collaboration allows team members to get more work done from authorized devices while keeping one’s corporate data secured. Office 365 also comes with built-in security and tools keeping corporate data secure on both desktop and mobile devices, As an administrator one has tools to manage access to data across phones and tablets. If data seems to be compromised, an administrator can wipe Office 365 data from selected devices remotely.
In case you’re stuck, Office 365 offers expert help is available from sales support, to installation or trouble shooting.
Mobile apps
Apart from having a desktop environment, Office 365 subscribers can access mobile apps of Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, and OneNote, Access and Skype for Business. They can also store and share their files, send business emails and conduct or attend online meetings via Office 365 for business plans with mobile apps. This gives teams a consistent Office experience and increases productivity.
And lastly, affordability. Office 365 Personal starts from $69.99per year or $6.99 per month while Office 365 Home is $99.99 per year or $9.99 per month.
