
Econet Media’s Kwese Sports has acquired the rights to stream all Formula E sessions including practice, qualifying and every race of the all-electric racing series, including the HKT Hong Kong ePrix on October 9 across Africa.
The agreement gives Kwese Sports exclusive rights, including TV, for the 2017/18 season via its Kwese Sports live streaming service.
According to Ali Russell, Director of Media at Formula E: “The developing economies of sub-Saharan Africa means that this is a region of the world where there is a great potential for growth, and this means a huge potential for new Formula E fans. We believe that Kwese offers the perfect platform for raising awareness of Formula E and showcasing our fantastic product to an important new market.”
The full list of territories where Formula E is available on Kwese Sports is as follows:
Botswana, DR Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Swaziland, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
