Mobile phone and electronics vendor Midcom Group will be investing 50 million dollars over the next 3 years in establishing 1,700 outlets across Africa, in a bid to become the largest mobile and electronics retailer in Africa by 2020 to feed the growing need for mobile phones on the continent.
100 of these shops will be in Kenya. Midcom Group, with a retail presence across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana and Togo. The expansion plan will see Midcom’s MStore retail brand grow its network in Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Togo and Chad.

The vendor has been largely successful due to the location of its stores, ability to get original devices direct from manufacturers and selling its devices at affordable prices. All the retail stores are strategically located at prime spots in major cities across Africa. Thus providing customers the ease to buy global leading devices in their region with manufacturer warranty.
Each store provides strategic and prominent positions for all the brands to display their units. Brand promoters are also present in these stores to provide guidance to the customers with respect to their brands.
The Mstores also provide technical support for customers facing issues with their devices under its care services offering 48 hours turn-around time guarantee to resolve the issue. The stores generate customer loyalty by providing various value added services to satisfy and meet the customer needs; such as “free screen repairs” for customers.
