Mahdi Mahamad Yussuf and Hawa Abdullahi wanted to go for dinner at a restaurant in one of the many shopping malls in Nairobi but couldn’t tell which mall to go to or where to find the exact restaurant among the hundreds of names they had, so out of frustration, they sat down and build a platform to list all the major businesses so users can easily search through, identify and share reviews with others.
“We thought of a platform where people could share reviews about businesses they visited to help each other know more before they visit. We thought this could help them locate the places easily, make better decisions and to the businesses more customers so we build Bizboostin.com,” Yussuf told TechMoran.
Bizboostin, coined from Biz and boosting means boosting businesses as the platform aims to help businesses receive their customers feedback after finding them on the Bizboostin platform. The platform, which is much like the infamous Mocality, Google’s Get Business Online which was retired and placed with the firm mapping service and a plethora of local sites aim to make the directory listings free, then gain traffic and earn from advertisements posted by other businesses or through premium listings.
The major task the founders have is to get the businesses on-board and to have all the events that are happening in Nairobi then to major towns-which is not child’s play before it becomes a true online guide for real time reviews on businesses and services and a complete business directory.
“BizBoostin mission is to help consumers find great businesses around them. BizBoostin achieves this by provides consumers with a directory of businesses and services where customers can choose whatever they want in their vicinity,”Yussuf says.
Now the firm is looking to list food vendors, property and owners, insurance, professional services, health and medical services and so on, so they can be found by their users at a click. This is a huge task with Google results now getting more accurate and updated daily.
