Jumia Travel Tanzania, formerly known as Jovago has appointed Fatema Dharsee as the new Country Manager to further develop the growing portfolio of hospitality sector in Tanzania after working as the Head of Marketing at Jumia Food, Jumia Travel’s sister company.
According to Estelle Verdier, Managing Director of JumiaTravel East Africa, “Fatema’s wealth of experience and intuition has already made her a Key Ambassador for Jumia Travel in Tanzania. We view her ability as a sign of our commitment to being the leading company in our industry”.
Fatema’s work will e to ensure the growth of Jumia Travel in the country by signing up and maintaining good relations with hotel managers and owners. Jumia Travel earns commision on every hotel booking so the more the hotels she can sign up the faster the growth. Travel in Tanzania is huge with attractions such as Kilimanjaro, Serengeti and Ol Duvai Gorge so by providing great services to many hotel owners, there is no hindrance to the firm’s growth.
“Definitely Jumia Travel ambition is to tap into the potential of the growing middle class. I’m planning to debunk the myth that travelling is expensive by showing the diversity of the accommodation options. There is a fit for all budgets in all destinations,”said Fatema.
