Uganda’s Gethiredup.com is a platform through which students seeking employment opportunities can find and connect with providers of such employment opportunities across the country.
Founded by Robert Ndawula, who also runs the Investigator, the platform has features students with their skills just like LinkedIn and when they are available for hire by employers. It also has featured part-time jobs for students to choose from.
For employers, the site allows them to find a student with the skills that matches their job requirement either as a part-time writer, programmer, designer, bookkeeper among others. The site allows recruiters to get a shortlist of skilled students instantly in its database, match them with jobs and conduct interviews on their favorite candidates.
For Students, the site allows them to create a profile for free, sign up for job alerts and follow recruiters on the platform to track the latest jobs on the system.
According to Ndawula, “Students love our simple application process, job profiles, and the fact that they can search for jobs that they wouldn’t otherwise have been exposed to. It’s a lot easier to use our website where you can filter out great jobs.”
The site aims to be largest online marketplace exclusively for Ugandan University students looking for part-time jobs, virtual gigs and full-time jobs upon graduation.
