Samsung Will Replace Current Note7 with New One

28642317911_09097e4458_zAfter fires caused by a battery fault, Samsung today announced it will stop the sale of the current Galaxy Note 7 worldwide  and replace the device with a new to those who already purchased one.

“Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products,” the firm announced, and continued, “We take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.”

To date there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and the firm says it is currently conducting a thorough inspection with its suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because of customers’ safety it has stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7. For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Note7 features an enhanced S Pen, symmetrical front-to-back 3D curves and boasts a large, dual-edge 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display and was available in four color options: Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, Gold Platinum and the new Blue Coral.

Apart from its trusted Samsung Knox platform with secure biometric authentication including fingerprint scanning, Note7 also had an iris scanning feature.
It’s internal memory stood at 64GB with support of a microSD card up to 256GB and the heart of the matter, the Galaxy Note7 is equipped with a 3,500mAh battery with an easy Power Management UX through Smart Manager allowing the phone to charge quickly using its new USB-C port.

“We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause in the market but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers,” announced the firm. “We are working closely with our partners to ensure the replacement experience is as convenient and efficient as possible.” This is a big blow to the firm, as no such thing has ever happened to its flagship models.
