Nigeria’s Beat Traffik has launched real-time traffic reports to help commuters evade traffic jams due to the increasing incidents of traffic congestion in urban cities in Nigeria.
According to Beat Traffik, the new features will help motorists to get real-time traffic report before leaving home or offices via an online and voice call road traffic management platform that allows road users to effectively commute while evading traffic congestion.
“The new app is engineered to help ease commuting, with features such as places of interest: users would see places of their interest such as: (Fuel station, eatery, hospital etc.) 2 miles away from their location,” said Beat Traffik co-founder and CTO Popoola Tobi, “the App makes it possible for users to receive traffic report, Accident, Robberies, Places of interest, Drone traffic videos, turn by turn navigation, contact the direction service for voice call guidance and pay for traffic offenses.””
The apps auto reroute feature will allow the app to automatically reroute a user from congested routes, navigating him/her through less congested ones. The app also has a Commuter Direction Service to help users get informed of traffic situations and possible alternatives to take.
“Our Commuter direction service is also available to everyone, including those who are not connected to the internet, we would tell you the situation of the road and a better route to take by calling us,” said co-founder and CEO Odionye Confidence. “However we won’t call you if you have not subscribed with us, as we would give priority to our subscribed users only. In the nearest future we would be simplifying the way road users pay for traffic fines.”
Beat Traffik is a mobile and web application that provide users with live update on traffic in their respective locations. The app is available for both Android and iOS smart phone users.
