New horizontal classifieds platform Afrimalin.com has launched in Francophone Africa to allow users buy and sell everything online without incurring any costs.
Founded by entrepreneurs Mamadou Niane, Thibault Launay, Romain Girbal, Celia Grémy, Afrimalin, the Conakry, Guinea-based firm is a free classified ads platform focused on Francophone Africa and is now present in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal.
Targeting SMEs, merchants and artisans in the above eight countries, Afrimalin aims to connect both buyers and sellers and professional service providers in markets mostly avoided by players such as Rocket Internet and Naspers due to their heavy dependency on French as a main language than English.
Afrimalin’s day-to-day operations are run by Mamadou Niane, it’s Co-founder and Director of Operations, Abdourahamane Diallo its Communication Director, Mohamed Lamine Mbaye as the head of IST and
Ousmane Cissé its IT manager.
The currently new, the site has partnered with LemonWay Africa, a French-based mobile payment solutions firm to help buyers and sellers pay or receive payments easily. Afrimalin’s main competition will be Afribaba which is also French-Africa focused and has raised funding to expand operations in Africa.
