Launched in August 2015 by Adetayo Bamiduro and Chinedu Azodoh MAX-a Hyper-local Delivery Service for businesses and individuals in Nigeria is building an in-app retail component to allow people to shop through the MAX app, allowing it to control the entire experience-from shopping to delivery.
Bamiduro told MIT Sloan School of Management that he believes he can expand MAX across Africa and that he is building a retail component to allow shoppers to easily pick their items from the app. He was speaking to MIT ahead of the Dec. 13 conference hosted by the MIT Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship, where he was a fellow in 2014-2015.
At the moment, Max is a ultra-fast local delivery firm using On-Demand Dispatch Technology with a high-performance network of local Dispatch Riders called champions.
MAX provides end-to-end pick-up and delivery to customers by using innovative mapping technology to resolve addresses and motivating Dispatch Riders with exciting career incentives. Bamiduro says MAX’s mission is to drive the growth of eCommerce in Africa by providing ultra-fast hyper-local fulfillment.
With 20K+ deliveries and 700+ partners , Max aims to fix Africa’s notorious last-mile delivery and online-retail problems by using mobile and web platforms to connect consumers, retail businesses and independent drivers in real-time. The founders say they are eliminating all logistics and technology barriers that have historically prevented retail businesses in Africa from realizing their full potential.
Now also delivery food, MAX provides a clear price breakdown depending on delivery zone and all packages are insured once in MAX’s custody.
