Nigeria’s LegitCar Wants To Help You Verify That Car Before Buying It

In Nigeria, the haphazard recovery of stolen vehicles has cost vehicle owners to lose about N1.8 billion between 2013 and 2015 according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The data showed that 2,544 vehicles were stolen between the aforementioned period and only 1,377 were recovered. This means the national recovery rate is about 54%. This is probably fair but not enough.

Consequently, some Nigerians have bought stolen vehicles without being aware of its status because there are many of stolen cars around. This has led to some persons been arrested by the police for possessing these vehicles.

No one wants to be in such situation. To perhaps address this issue and complement the efforts of the police, LegitCar is here with a pragmatic solution.

Founded by Vincent Okeke in 2006, LegitCar verifies that car you are about to buy and lets users know if it is in their database of stolen and missing vehicles. LegisCar uses the car’s ‘VIN/Chassis Number’ box for the confirmation.

Users only need to type the car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) /Chassis Number, hit verify and search. Within minutes, you will know if the car is stolen or missing.

Henceforth, you do not need to worry about the cars you are buying anymore with your hard earned money.
