A public university in Nigeria admits between 5,000 and 10,000 students yearly. In many of these ivory towers, there is a shortage of hostel or accommodation for staylites, let alone new students. As a result, many of them are always looking for off-campus accommodation.
The problem now is how do the students get the hostel that features the basic things they want? Hostelfinder has the answer as it is offering a platform for students to search for hostels that are close to their campuses. It was founded by Ebuka Okeke.
Some of the rooms available on the platform include self-contained rooms, shared facility flats, en-suits rooms. It also has provision for students looking to share their rooms with other students.
From our search, we discovered that there are only 4 states on HostelFinder namely Edo, Kwara, Osun, and Rivers where you can search for hostels. And even within those states, they did not cover all schools. Surprisingly, it is not present in Lagos, the commercial nerve Centre of Nigeria where you have so many public institutions.
Hostelfinder really has a long way to go. But if you stay in the states earlier listed, you are in luck as you can still find accommodation in these places.
