Hithood is an online classifieds marketplace that allows anyone post goods for interested consumers to purchase. The platform also allows users service providers and business owners to post and advertise their services.

Launched on the 1st of October 2016 by Ijezie Emmanuel, the service is currently available in Nigeria and Ghana, with plans for expansion. Since its launch, Hithood has hosted goods in various categories, including mobile phones and accessories, vehicles/Machines, animals and pets, housing and real estate, art and hobbies, computers and other electronic gadgets.

To optimise user experience, products and services are grouped in basic categories. Users begin their process of shopping on the platform by first selecting their country of residence. The website then automatically detects the city and current location where a user is, through the browsing IP or geo-location.

With, tons of established players in the eCommerce space, and a lot of new platform are struggling to visibility and relevance, we’ll like to see how Hithood intends to gain its voice and give them a run for their money.
