The transport and ride-sharing companies taking on Uber are increasing day by day. A sign that the competition is getting to Uber was when Taxify cut their prices and they also did same.
Now, another transport company has launched to take on Uber, Taxify and Oga Taxi. It is called Swiftley.
Swiftley is a transportation or ride sharing network company that links passengers with luxurious rides in and around Lagos.
Switfley which was founded this year is very simple and seamless to use. For users who want to book a ride, you will have to download our app from the app store (iOS) or from Google play (Android). You then open your app and register. After that, you will see a list of available vehicle types in your location. You select your desired vehicle type, select your pickup location and then enter the optional destination location and then request a ride. The Swiftley driver within closest proximity to you will then be notified to come get you.
The app calculates your ride fare based on the distance and time it takes to complete the trip. There’s also a base and minimum fare, which are all added up to provide with the lowest rate possible.
According to a tweet chat Swiftley had with an influencer on Twitter, the reason why the transport company was launched is due to “The need to provide Lagosians with an enhanced ridesharing experience at very affordable rates as well as to provide high-end alternatives to traditional means of transportation across adding that our affordable rates mean you no longer need to jump buses (Danfos) in Lagos”.
Interestingly, Swiftley is a proudly Nigerian brand, unlike Uber and Taxify.
There is no doubt that Uber is the poster boy of ride sharing in Nigeria. However, it seems like brands like Swiftley will soon catch up and perhaps dominate the market.
