OneMedical Launches to Enable Hospitals Digitize Health Records

OneMedical is a system designed specifically for hospitals in Nigeria, to enable them digitize their medical processes and records for free.

According to the team, less than a decade ago, 9 out of 10 physicians in the United States relied on paper records, but today over 85% use an EHR system like ours. It’s time for Nigeria’s transition to a technology-driven healthcare system, that’s why we spent years building an innovative solution that is perfect for any hospital or clinic in Nigeria — regardless of size, resources or structure.

The platform thus claims to be accelerating Nigeria’s transition to an electronic/data-driven healthcare system.

Founded by a three-man team, Adegoke Olubusi, Nick Moore and Dimeji Sofowora, OneMedical provides a user friendly interface for medical professionals to quickly access and manage patient’s medical files, have instant access to patient records from any laptop, tablet or mobile device at anytime, and have their heavily-encrypted medical records are safely stored in the cloud or onsite.

Storing medical information on paper is a common practice in hospitals around the world. This sure comes with it’s own disadvantage. Many times, patients are kept waiting, while nurses/health attendants go in search of their health files from a pile of other health files. This under-development of healthcare information systems has made delivery of care extremely difficult, resulting in thousands of unnecessary mortalities annually. OneMedical is therefore solving a real problem, and with healtcare organisations embracing the platform, it would not only enhance development, but also makes their jobs a lot easier.
