Over the years, there’s been the problem of fake drugs being pushed to the market, which is then purchased unknowingly by in need of the products. This has led to the loss of many lives, and the constant fight against fake drugs.
Medsaf was launched to contribute in this fight, and at the same time make the of buying and selling medication in Nigeria’s health system easier and more efficient.
Launched in September 2016 by Vivian Nwakah and João Pinheiro, Medsaf gets medications directly from leading local and foreign manufacturers, eliminating issues relating to quality control and ensuring fair pricing, and delivers these medications to hospitals, pharmacies, and clinics all over the country.
The startup also provides customers with an inventory management system that allows them to see real-time stock levels for their medications, receive order reminders and alerts, and access historical sale s data for forecasting.
For healthcare providers, they are able to procure the medications they need for their patients in one place and efficiently manage their inventory. Medsaf promises to offer competitive pricing and an efficient, transparent process.
For dug manufacturers, they are able to reduce costs, reduce risk of foreign product entry, increase distribution, access market trends and aggregated purchasing data.
