Nigeria, Ghana and India partners to develop Africa’s ICT ecosystem

The giants of Africa, Nigeria and Ghana will joining hands with India to foster the improvement and development of Information and Communication Technology in Africa.

The three countries plan to achieve this through a two-day summit organized by the Indian Government through her Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council, TEPC in collaboration with India’s National Association of Software and Services Companies, NASSCOM. The summit will hold in Lagos, Nigeria and will commence on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 and end Thursday, September 7, 2017.

The summit is a big and promising one as high ranked personalities and government dignitaries like the Nigeria Minister of Communications, Mr Adebayo Shittu, Ghanaian Minister of Communications, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekufu, and India Minister of Communications, Shri Manoj Sinha, will all grace the event.

Area of Business of the summit will hover around how technology can foster several sectors of the continent like finance, governance, education, new technologies, health, business, infrastructure, standardisation, telecoms, among others.

Speaking on the need to adopt Information and Communication Technology, Director-General of TEPC, Shri Rajesk Kumar Bhatnagar had this to say;

“Digital transformation has made it imperative for all the developing world and nations in Africa and India to share their experiences on embracing digital technologies, digital competencies, digital literacy for re-inventing lives and all aspects of human society.“

According to Vanguard, the summit will be graced by a lot of experienced and seasoned speaker and top individuals in the ICT world. Also, participating countries’ short and long-term ICT plans will also be presented and reviewed at the summit.
