Virtual farmers and buyers marketplace AgroCenta selected the best startup in Ghana


Virtual platform connennecting farmers and buyers AgroCenta has been selected the best startup in the Ghana round of Seedstars World and will represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland to compete for up to USD 1 million in equity investment and other prizes.

 AgroCenta empowers smallholder farmers through innovative technology and provides real-time payments with mobile money technologies, and an on-demand logistics service and recently won US$20,000 at the The Fincluders Startup Challenge in Jordan.

The second prize, JamJar, with its solution to plan and organise an event on the African continent while  Kenko Doctor, an open marketplace with instant access medical history grabbed the last spot in the top 3.

The other startups invited to pitch were EDWOM GHANAInvest MobileAnitrackCLIVEAmatsii. The 8 startups pitched in front of a prestigious jury: David Hutchful from Bloom Impact, Patrick Quantson from Stanbic Bank,  Klenam Fiadzoe from Sika and Fanny Dauchez from Seedstars World.

Seedstars World, the global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes brought its Ghana round to a successful close during Seedstars Accra. The event took place this Wednesday at Impact Hub Accra, and 8 selected startups were invited to present their ideas in front of the local jury panel.
