Cloud9xp to use Ksh.7.5m Lions Den boost to kick start new mobile app

Online retailer and leisure experiences booking service, Cloud9xp founders are a happy and rich lot after they managed to bag Ksh.7.5m in investment from the KCB Lion’s Den enterpreneururs Darshan Chandaria and Wandia.

“We raised 7.5 Mil that we intend to use to grow the business and Kick start our all new mobile app that’s going to change the way people book their experiences. We also managed to bring in two strategic business partners in the process,” said Emmanuel Miriti told TechMoran in an interview.

Launched in 2015 by fourth-year college friends Emmanuel Miriti, Tesh Mbaabu and Mesongo Sibuti, Cloud9xpis an online retailer and booking service for leisure experiences. It started off as a retailer of “High On Life” apparel, and pivoted into an experience/leisure company one year later, as we looked to assist positive, fun-seeking free spirits like ourselves in looking for amazing experiences all over the continent.

“We have reached a milestone of 1000+ leisure activities in Kenya and just rolled out in the South African countries listing over 250 leisure activities, We are testing the market there hence they are not bookable yet. We intend to expand to the rest of the continent by the year 2020, ” said Miriti

The KCB Lions’ Den is a business reality television show in Kenya modeled around a TV production which originated in Japan as Money Tigers or Tigers of Money. The TV format has since been customized and successfully launched in over 20 other countries globally with some of the common ones being the US and UK versions of the show which are called Shark Tank and Dragons’ Den respectively.
