5 Trends About Best Onsite Technologies

We’re just a few months away from 2018 and this means it’s time to reflect back on the growing trends of this year. Like every year, 2017 brought some great technological advancements for the construction, engineering, and architecture industry.

Therefore, it’s essential to keep up with these trends and stay ahead of the competitive curve. Here are five most famous technology trends influencing the way real estate and construction industries are operating:

1.   Smart Building

The updated IT technology is giving rise to the Smart Building phenomenon. The idea is to stay connected to people, building systems, and the global environment. Smart buildings use automated processes for operations like heating, air conditioning, security, lighting, and other systems.

With the help of microchips, sensors, and other devices, the data is collected to manage the functions of the building. While new builders are implementing this smart technology for homes, the trending construction-tech gained its popularity through commercial real estate.

2.   Hydraulic Speed Shoring

The usage of hydraulic speed shoring has made it easier to use props in the trench, structure, or vessel. This method uses greater pressure to trench walls to avoid cave-ins for better security. They’re great to work around with trench walls (supporting structures), existing utilities, sidewalks, curbs, and even for the pipe installations.

This onsite technology isn’t only safer but is also less time-consuming. Most shores can be installed and removed without digging deep. The hydraulic speed shoring also minimizes the requirement of excavation because shoring a trench is carried out as soon as it’s excavated. The method became a popular trend for its versatility, safety, and the way it optimizes the work space.

3.   Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle – UAV for short – is an aircraft that operates through an onboard computer or remote device. It’s set as auto-pilot and can be automated with the help of predetermined flight paths. The UAVs can also be piloted using a remote control or mobile device.

The aerial device is more commonly known as a drone. Drones are trending in the construction and on-site industries as they’re helping professionals track the progress of their projects while helping them conduct site surveys.

By using this technology, construction contractors can now easily take real-time maps, aerial photos, and even 3D images. Besides, it increases the project productivity and ensures enhanced safety.

4.   Metal Stamping

The procedure of metal stamping encompasses various manufacturing processes including embossing, flanging, blanking, punching, bending, and coining. The procedure is carried out using a stamping press or a machine press.

Due to its level of efficiency and effectiveness, the process is trending. It takes only a single stage operation to produce a series of metal parts with the stamping on the go.

Here are some of the benefits of using this onsite technology:

  • Precision stamping for cost-effective and fast manufacturing
  • Value added operations
  • Innovative designs and easy handling of complex products.

A company that specializes in metal stamping is able to incorporate advanced production techniques and produce less scrap during manufacturing.

5.   Prefabrication

When it comes to onsite construction industries, fabrication has been around for decades. However, new practices have made this method even more beneficial as it evolves.

Fabrication in today’s modern age is about building information modeling and the way different teams collaborate on different projects. This further enables the human resource to use prefabrication on a larger scale and for more complicated projects.

To enjoy the competitive edge in the construction industry, it’s essential to keep an eye on how these trends evolve so you can achieve increased business profitability. If implemented the right way, these onsite technologies can help boost the productivity level of your business.
