Safaricom’s Masoko struggled for several hours before and after launch of its first ever Masoko Black Friday Campaign which started at 0:00 hours on Friday, November 24.
Potential buyers who visited the site found it offline and several others couldn’t proceed to buy or check out anything from the site. Its developers have since fixed those bugs and the site is up and running. However, some of the visitors are now calling the iPhone X deal a scam and alerting their friends to be aware. There is a likelihood that various of its customers missed out on the deals or the deals didn’t exist at all or the site was put offline on purpose as some are arguing below.
However, being new to ecommerce Safaricom will struggle. Cloud and web hosting services have never been its strength and the firm might be forced to move its site to Amazon Web Services or other reputable cloud services providers.
Both Jumia and Masoko were selling the iPhone X at Ksh 1. Both sites are yet to reveal who bought it.
Are you ready for #MasokoBlackFriday ? Stay tuned, get ready to have some fun and don’t miss out on awesome deals and surprises throughout the day. Happy shopping!! @SafaricomLtd pic.twitter.com/jl4mTjyHMe
