Kenya’s Jobonics has launched in Kenya in a move to bring simple, affordable and smart recruiting and make the process less tedious.
Founded in Nairobi, Kenya by Stella Ngugi, the smart social recruiting platform aims to make hiring easier, faster and cheaper by using Artificial Intelligence, data science and user experience to bring users results they deserve.
“If you’ve ever applied for jobs and wondered why you hardly ever get any responses from recruiters, it’s because there’s a high chance your application is in a pile on someone’s desk or in some grey filing room,” writes Ngugi. “The sad reality is that in the 21st century where we have self driving cars and drones delivering pizza to your doorstep, majority of the companies and recruiters hire with paper or excel sheets.”
Though over 61% of the hiring process can be automated, many firms are yet to automate their processes and as HR executive, Ngugi says she experienced this frustration first hand in 5 different companies and it caused more harm to the firms than any other business function in the organizations.
“Because of the outdated processes, many applications go unnoticed. In one week, the average job seeker applies for 16 jobs. However, in order to secure just one job interview, the average candidate needs to apply for around 27 jobs. That means it takes the average job seeker almost 2 weeks to land just one interview. Understandably, that means 56% of job seekers find the job hunting process stressful,” she adds.
The outdated processes also mean 2 in 5 candidates have abandoned an application due to poor candidate experiences or long application process and a qualified candidate ends up missing the job and the company too, ends up missing the candidate.
Jobonics aims to solve those problems which are costly to firms for every candidate hired. Jobonics uses employer branding to attract talent than just turning to job boards and recruitment agencies to do the work. Jobonics says it offers end-to-end online recruitment services with automated processes solving tedious, time-consuming tasks including candidate sourcing, interviewing, messaging and manual resume screening.
Jobonics users need no downloads, updates or installations but only sign up for accounts 75% of the qualifying and engagement process automated dramatically improving matching and prediction accuracy over time.
The app discovers the best talent, intelligently matches them with a companies culture and skills needs. Users also attract employers via their digital profiles to showcase their skills and easily apply to jobs online. A bit like LinkedIn, but local.
